The name “From the Forty” is in honor of owner Geoff’s grandfather Harold Voeks. Ever since Geoff was little, he remembers when his grandpa would get ready to head out to the woods to go logging ND would say “I’m going to go get some logs From the Forty.” Geoff & Holly started the business as a hobby with the skills Geoff had learned from his grandfather. They sold benches and stools in their front yard and at local farm/craft markets. It got to a point that they couldn’t keep up with orders plus hold down a full-time job. Geoff quit his job and started From the Forty LLC full-time.
